Running with Bonnie and Clyde: The Red Crown Symposium and Road Tour This event marks the 75th anniversary of the 1933 gunfight between local lawmen and notorious outlaws Bonnie and Clyde and the Barrow Gang near today's Kansas City International Airport. The symposium examines the Barrow gang, events leading up to the Red Crown shootout and its aftermath, told through film, rare slides and various accounts. Vintage cars, period costumes, collectibles on display. Lunch available. Escape from Platte County Road Tour, following lunch, retraces some of the actual roads used by the Barrow gang that night 75 years ago. Today those same roads are newly paved country back roads - perfect for a vintage car tour. If you’re a history buff, a vintage car fan or both, you’re sure to enjoy this unique program.
